Peelaa Hamba Worm Syrup 50ml

Description

Peelaa Hamba Worm Syrup 50ml is an effective anthelmintic against Roundworms and Threadworms. Used for adults and children.

EACH 5 ML CONTAINS:

Piperazine Citrate equivalent to piperazine hydrate           750 mg

Sucrose                                                                        2208 mg ADULTS:          A single dose of 30 ml of the syrup taken preferably before the evening meal will produce complete clearance of ascaris from the gut in adults and children over 12 years of age.  This may be repeated once after 14 days.

CHILDREN:

Under 1 year of age:                  On medical advice only. 120 mg / kg (0,8 ml / kg)

1 – 3 years:                                2 medicine measures (10 ml)

4 – 5 years:                                3 medicine measures (15 ml)

6 – 8 years:                                4 medicine measures (20 ml)

9 – 12 years:                              5 medicine measures (25 ml)

This may be repeated once after 14 days. No fasting or other supplementary measures are necessary, but in cases of constipation a saline purgative should be given the following

morning.

FOR THE ELIMINATION OF THREADWORM.

ADULTS:                                  Administer daily after food for seven days.

Adults and children over 12 years of age are given 15 ml once daily.  In rare instances it may be necessary to repeat the course after one week.

CHILDREN:                              (to be continued for seven days)

Under 1 year of age:                  On medical advice only.  45 mg to 75 mg (0,3 – 0,5 ml / kg)

1 – 3 years:                                1 medicine measures (5,0 ml)

4 – 5 years:                                11/2 medicine measures (7,5 ml)

7 – 12 years:                              2 medicine measures (10,0 ml)

In rare instances it may be necessary to repeat the course after one week.

No special diet is required and it is not necessary to follow the strict hygienic routine associated with treatment of threadworms.  Attention to general cleanliness is, however, important in order to prevent reinfection from untreated cases.  It is often advisable to examine all members of the household and treat all positive cases at the same time, to prevent transmission of the worms and reinfestation. If you miss a dose, skip the missed dose.  Do not double dose. SIDE-EFFECTS AND SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS.

Piperazine should be given with care to patients with latent epilepsy, neurological disturbances, or impaired renal function.  If your general state of health worsens while taking this medicine, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

KNOWN SYMPTOMS OF OVERDOSAGE AND PARTICULARS OF ITS TREATMENT:

Toxic effects may be produced with prolonged treatment with large dosages.  Dizziness, blurred vision, nausea experienced under these conditions should cease when treatment is discontinued.
