Peelaa Babies Stomach Mixture 100ml

• Used as an antacid in infants and children.
• Also used to treat dyspepsia, flatulence and vomiting.

EACH 5 ML CONTAINS:

Magnesium Carbonate Light                               0,160 g

Sodium Bicarbonate                                           0,080 g

Ethyl Alcohol (100 %)                                         8, 24 % v/v

Preserved with: Chloroform                                0,5 % v/v Give three to four times a day.

CHILDREN:

Under 1 month:                                                 2,5 ml (½ a medicine measure).

1 – 6 months:                                                     2,5 – 5 ml (½ – 1 medicine measure).

6 – 12 months:                                                   5 ml (1 medicine measure).

1 – 2 years:                                                        5 – 7,5 ml (1 – 1½ medicine measures).

3 – 5 years:                                                        7,5 – 10 ml (1½ – 2 medicine measures).

6 – 10 years:                                                      10 – 15 ml (2 – 3 medicine measures). Do not use the maximum dosage of this product for more than two weeks except under the advice and supervision of a doctor. Do not give this medicine to babies with a bodymass less than 2,5 kg. Shake the bottle before use. If you miss a dose, skip the missed dose.  Do not take double doses.

SIDE EFFECTS AND SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS:

Diarrhoea, stomach cramps, flatulence and belching may occur.  Hypermagnesaemia and metabolic alkalosis may occur, expecially in patients with impaired renal function.  Symptoms may include shortness of breath, muscle weakness, mental disturbances, convulsions and coma.  Magnesium carbonate may interfere with the absorption of other medicines given concomitantly.

KNOWN SYMPTOMS OF OVERDOSAGE AND PARTICULARS OF ITS TREATMENT:

Treatment of metabolic alkalosis and hypernatraemia associated with sodium bicarbonate overdosage consists mainly of appropriate correction of fluid and electrolyte balance.  Replacement of calcium, chloride and potassium ions may be of particular importance.
